Introduction — Ouranism

Greetings!

I introduce myself to you as the Founder of Ouranism. But rest assured, I make no claim to have been visited by any supernatural or extraterrestrial being, nor to have heard any voice. It is rather the fruit of a long work of study and reflection, and above all of the direct experience of Beauty and Love as access to fullness and eternity.

It is from this experience that Ouranism wishes to bear witness. This is what constitutes the purpose of life, of the universe, and of the movement of Being. Indeed, what we call the Divine is immanent to the world, present in the world. Being, or the Divine, unfolds through the existence of the world, and through our conscious existences, it becomes conscious of itself. It unfolds through the forces of nature, and we can be its conscious agents.

Now conscious that Being finds its fulfilment in the production and contemplation of Beauty, and in Love its meeting point of fullness and eternity, we can work toward it, individually and collectively. This is what Ouranism enjoins you to accomplish, and our will is to build a community that will foster this end, this purpose.

Now, I wish us courage — I say to you: to work! And let the adventure begin!
